Moonshine and Popcorn Sutton (RIP) - Links, Movies, and Gravesite

“Jesus turned the water into wine, I turned it into likker.” – Popcorn Sutton

I am from the south, and I like moonshine, as long as it burns blue (orange means there is impurities from the distillation process). Around the Appalachian Mountains, the biggest name associated with moonshine is Popcorn Sutton. He was made famous by that silly reality TV show on Discovery about said product, but he was well know well before that. My pops has bought shine from him before and met him a time or two. He passed in 2009.  He was against paying taxes, but now they make shine with his recipe and namesake while paying the man in Newport TN.  His gravestone says it all!

There was a movie made about him called "This is the Last Dam Run of Likker I'll Ever Make" and I have embedded the whole thing below/after the jump.  There is also a new flick titled "Popcorn Sutton - A Hell of a Life" that came out in 2014, and the trailer for that is below.

Awesome Photos from the Rosetta Mission

I like outer space, a few times in my life, I believe that I lived in outer space due to a warped reality. The Rosetta Mission to land a probe on the comet is downright awesome, and there are some cool pics and articles out in the information super highway concerning the journey and subsequent probing of 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko.  There is even a comet selfie for the kids and their twitters.  This mission was launched in 2004, and after a decade of planning by Rosetta/Philae/ESA team, the mission got the coolest photos I have seen all week.  This made me excited about space again.

E-how's One Sheet- and yeah, it is cheesy like the other ehow stuff, but it is good to know the shit not to do.

Nocturnal Movement's One sheet guide
- a good one

KEXP's guide- many people must have pissed this guy off at many different jobs, cause he tells you how to correctly set up and contact press in various mediums. The hot dog story is a trip.

ezine article's- this one is long winded but detailed, it is good to read before you brainstorm the future MO.
